It’s Winter Break for all 509J schools. School starts back on January 5th.
Christmas week garbage collection will run on a holiday schedule. Monday & Tuesday routes are being picked up today. Wednesday & Thursday routes will be picked up on Tuesday (Dec. 23). Friday routes will be picked up on Wednesday (Dec. 24). There will be no garbage pickup on Thursday & Friday as the Tribe is closed for the holiday. Please have your totes out at the end your driveway before 5am to ensure pick up.
Warm Springs Prevention Team is hosting the 2025 Christmas Basketball Jamboree today and tomorrow in the old elementary gym with games starting at 8am.
The Tribal Courthouse is closed today to facilitate repair work by electrical contractors.
The Timber Committee meets this morning from 8:30-noon at the Forestry Admin Office. The Land Use Planning Committee will meet from 1:30-4:30 in the cougar Den at Nature Resources. Both committees meet twice monthly on the 2nd and 4th Mondays.
The Community Health Education Team and Wellness of Warm Springs Jewelry Making with Anita Davis workshop is scheduled for today 8am – 5pm and tomorrow 9am – 4pm at the old Warm Springs Elementary School Cafeteria. Supplies and Snacks will be provided.
Warm Springs IHS will be closed on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (Dec. 24-26) for the holiday. Please check your medications and call in all refills by today for pickup by 5pm Tuesday. The refill line is 541-553-2475. If you’re not getting though at that number, reach the pharmacy on the alternate cell number 541-325-6777.
Warm Springs community members are welcome to fill containers with free drinking water every Monday at the Hydro Panel Facility, located next to the old Vehicle Pool building in the Industrial Park. Stop by Mondays between 8am and 5pm.
At the Behavioral Health Center every Monday is a Women’s Talking Circle from 11-12:30 and the Adolescent Alcohol & Drug Education Court Program at 4:00. These are for current clients – find out more by calling 541-553-3205. Naimuma Wellbriety Group meets Mondays at 5:30 at the Smurf Village PSH and it’s open to all.
The Community Cetner is closing at 2:00 today as they get ready for the Last-Minute Christmas Bazaar on Tuesday. There will be no Sky Walkers Youth Basketball this week.
The Last-Minute Christmas Bazaar is tomorrow from 9am to 3pm at the Warm Springs Community Center.
Historology presents Music Bingo on Tuesday (Dec. 23) at the old cafeteria from 5:30-7:30pm. This is for people 18 and older and there is a $10 buy-in.
The Maternal Child Health or MCH program at the Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center encourages new pregnant moms or postpartum mothers to come in to learn more about services and support that is offered. There are classes such as back to boards class, breastfeeding support groups, and prep for labor and delivery. At community health women can get pregnancy tests, birth control, child immunizations, and STD checks. If you are IHS eligible you can call 541-553-2352 or stop by the MCH Office in the Community Health side of the Clinic in Warm Springs.
The Warm Springs Emergency Management Office provides COVID-19 home test kits, masks and hand sanitizer to community members. Their office is at 1116 Wasco Street – the blue and white trailer next to the old school. It’s open 8am to 5pm. Water Distribution for households is available for pickup weekdays from 9-4:00. Ring the doorbell for service.
The Fix Ticks Program provides quick, easy, and completely free flea and tick medicine to families on the Warm Springs reservation. Visit https://fixticks.org/ and complete the short request form. The medicine will be mailed directly to you.
