Today is Late Start Monday for all 509-J students. School will open 90 minutes later than normal times.

The Timber Committee and the Land Use Planning Committee both meet on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of the month. They have meetings scheduled today. The Timber Committee meets this morning from 8:30-noon at the Forestry Admin Office. The Land Use Planning Committee will meet from 1:30-4:30 in the cougar Den at Natural Resources.

Enterprise Updates are the Tribal Council’s agenda today. This morning – Indian Head Casino & Plateau Travel Plaza; Power & Water Enterprise; and Composite Products. This afternoon – Museum at Warm Springs; Telecom; and Credit Enterprise.

Senior Fitness Class at the Senior Center is every Monday and Thursday morning at 10:45 with a lunch for participants after.

The Hydro Panel Facility in the Industrial Park is open today for free drinking water. Warm Springs community members can stop by between 8am and 5pm to fill their containers.

The 59th Annual Warm Springs All-Indian Men’s Holiday Basketball Tournament is on January 22-24 at the Community Center. Entries are due January 14th. Contact Austin Greene at 541-553-3243 for more information.

CTWS Board vacancies are being advertised for the TERO Commission, Indian Head Casino Board of Directors, Warm Springs Composite Board, Warm Springs Local Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, Warm Springs Power & Water Enterprise Board, Telco Board of Directors, Waterboard and Warm Springs Credit Board of Directors. Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest, resume & signature on a criminal/credit background check to the office of the Secretary-Treasurer no later than 5pm on January 16th.

A free Suicide Prevention & Education training for Warm Springs community will be held Monday, February 16th 6-7:30pm in the old school cafeteria. Participants will learn how to recognize the warning signs and what you can do to help. Register at the Warm Springs Prevention or Lines for Life Office. The Warm Springs Tribes offers an emergency notification system but folks need to opt in to receive messages.  In the event of winter weather impacts on roads making travel hazardous for employees, there could be changes to work or service hours.  The alert system communicates information to employees and the general public via e-mail messages.  To participate you can sign up online or contact the Tribes’ Office of Information Systems.

Wasco Electric Cooperative ha unclaimed capital credit payments for the years 1991, 1992, & 1993.  A list of members with unclaimed credits can be found their website.  Members or their heirs must claim these payments by May.

There is a Boil Water Notice for the Simnasho/Schoolie Flat Water System in effect until further notice. When there is a boil water notice, you need to bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for one minute, and cool before using. Or use bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food. Simnasho residents can get drinking water from Three Warriors Market and also at Warm Springs Emergency Management’s Water Distribution center at 1116 Wasco Street.  Their hours are 9:00am-4:00pm daily.
