Today is Labor Day – a federal holiday. The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs is closed. The clinic is closed today.

The next legal clinic in Warm Springs is on Tuesday (9/8) from 9am to noon at the Community Action Team building. Free civil legal help is available for those who qualify, including wills, estate planning, expungement, tenant and employee rights, domestic violence protection, and public benefits. To schedule, call 541-668-8352. Walk‑ins are welcome. The clinic is provided by the Native American Program of Legal Aid Services of Oregon.

The Oregon Employment Department’s mobile WorkSource Oregon center will be in Warm Springs at the Community Center parking lot from 9:30-3:30 on Tuesday (9/8). People can stop by to connect with career support, technology, and WorkSource staff who can help you take the next step in your job search. Services include free computer and internet access, personalized career support, help finding job and training opportunities, and referrals to benefits programs. If you are a Veteran, you’ll receive priority access to WorkSource Oregon services.

Madras High School’s “Buffs Are Back” BBQ for all grades will be held on Tuesday (9/8) 4:30-6:30. Students can learn about clubs & activities, plus get schedules, lockers, ASB cards, parking passes and order year books. Hot dogs, chips & water will be available for everyone.

At Madras High School, freshmen start school on Wednesday (9/9) and all grade levels start on Thursday (9/10).

For Warm Springs K-8, grades 1 through 8 begin on Wednesday (9/9). Kindergarten families should have received a welcome letter detailing staggered orientation schedules, with individual family conferences on September 9, split student start days on September 10 and 11, and all kindergarten classes starting on Monday, September 14.

Warm Springs Head Start’s first day of school will be Monday, September 14th. Head Start our Open House is set for Wednesday, September 16th from 5 to 7:30pm.

The Warm Springs Boys & Girls Club is closed today and tomorrow. It will reopen on the first day of school, September 9th for the afterschool program 2:50-5:30. Registration is open now for the 2026-27 school year on the parent portal at www.bgcsc.org. Click on “register” and “create account.”

Metolius City Hall is inviting community members to its Dog Days of Summer fundraising event Saturday, September 19th at 6pm at the Rails & Tails Dog Park in Metolius. They are asking for donations to Rockn EZ Rescue Ranch – Pedigree dog food, collars, leashes, treats, and even cash. They will have free hot dogs for the humans and a splash pool the dogs!
