Funeral services are being held today for Frank Kalama, Jr. They will depart from Autumn Funeral Home this morning at 8 and go to the Agency Longhouse for dressing at 9. Burial, a meal and giveaway will follow.

Youth who are signed up for the Community Center’s trip to Suttle Lake should remember that they are leaving at 9 this morning and need to bring swimming clothes and lunch.

The Community Center parking lot is closed today and tomorrow for pavement work. Please use the parking area behind the Community Center.

The Madras Community Food Pantry will be open 10am to 1pm today. It’s located on the Culver Highway.

The Thursday Market today will be open from 10:30-2 at the Campus Pavillion.  Vendors are welcome to come set up.  It’s first come, first serve for available tables and chairs.  This week:

  • Emergency Management will be giving away men’s, women’s, kids and baby clothing, as well as toys & blankets today. It’s all free and it all must go!
  • A Grand Canyon University Development Counselor will be there with info about online degree programs, tribal funding, financial aid, and reaching your career goals.
  • Warm Springs Community Health will have the mobile medical clinic to see patients. Walk-ins are welcome or you can schedule an appointment by calling 541-553-2352.
  • And pick up for Veggie Rx participants will be at from 11 am – 2 pm. Please check in with Barbara at the HDFFA table. And if you are eligible and opted in, delivery will begin around 2:30 pm.

The Thursday Market will run weekly through September 10th.

The Youth in Progress Drop-In Center in Madras will be open for crafting today from 12:30-3:30. They will be making suncatchers. Supplies & snacks will be provided. The Youth Drop-In Center is located at 29 SE D Street.

The Back to School Yard Sale at the Community Wellness Center is on Friday (8/21) from 9am to 3pm.

The MountainStar Resource Bus providing diapers, wipes and other supplies for young children will be in the parking lot of the Warm Springs Community Center on Friday (8/21) from 10:30-2:30. Families that are registered with MountainStar will be eligible for diapers twice a month. For more information call 458-287-1080. ABBAcadabra: The Ultimate ABBA Tribute Concert is this Friday (8/21) at General Duffy’s Waterhole in Redmond. Doors open at 6pm with music at 8:30. Some of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Wildfire Recovery Fund and Thrive Central Oregon. Ticket details are available at online GeneralDuffys.com.

There will be an Agency District meeting on Monday, August 24th at the Agency Longhouse. There’s a dinner at 5:30, and the meeting will follow. On the agenda: adoptions, enrollment, small business development & management.

ECE Daycare Admissions Packets for the 2026-27 School year are now available. Daycare admissions will be first come, first served. Currently, there is no school age program. Parents & guardians will need to download the Brighwheel app to complete packets.
