The Madras Community Food Pantry on Culver Highway is open from 10AM to 1PM, and the Life Raft Food Pantry at 401 5th Street in Maupin is available from 11 to 3. Neighbor-to-Neighbor Food Pantry at the Wamic Community Center is open from 1 to 4, while the Dufur Community Food Pantry inside Dufur School operates from 4 to 6.

The Thursday Market is today from 10:30am – 2pm at the Campus Pavillion.  Vendors are welcome to come set up.  Mt. Hood Meadows will have its Fall Clothing Give Away with gently used clothing, shoes and boots in various sizes. Pick up for Veggie Rx participants will be at the Thursday Market from 11 – 2. Please check in with Barbara at the HDFFA table. And if you are eligible and opted in, delivery will begin around 2:30 pm.

The Back to School BBQ & Family Resource Fair at the Warm Springs K-8 Academy will be held on Thursday, September 3 from 4-6pm. It’s a chance to connect with teachers and staff from the 509J school district. Everyone is welcome.

Warm Springs Nation Little League invites families to save your spot for the 2027 season by completing pre-registration paperwork during the Back-to-School Barbecue this afternoon at the K8 Academy. People interested in coaching this coming season should contact Edmund Francis or Liz Hisatake.

Today’s Madras High School Sports Schedule: Volleyball has a double header at Redmond High School today with games at 1 & 5. Football teams play at home vs. Molalla. JV kicks off at 4 and varsity at 7. KWSO will broadcast the varsity contest live.

Art Adventure Gallery’s September exhibit will feature works from mother & daughter Kathleen Veenstra & Emily O’Neal. There’s an opening reception this evening from 5-7. The gallery is located on 5th Street in Madras.

The Human Resources and Compensation & Benefits departments will be closed from 8:30-10am on Friday (9/4) for a staff meeting. During this time, the team will discuss the upcoming open enrollment period.

A memorial for Angela Bellanger and family name-givings will be held on Saturday, September 5th beginning at 8am at the Simnasho Longhouse.

The Boys & Girls Club is closed until the first day of school, Wednesday, September 9th. The afterschool program will run 2:50-5:30. Registration is open now for the 2026-27 school year on the parent portal at www.bgcsc.org. Click on “register” and “create account.”

Warm Springs Higher Education Department is reminding tribal scholarship students that they should apply for the Oregon Tribal Student Grant. It can pay for most or all public college-related expenses not covered by other grants for students pursuing their first Associate, Bachelor’s, or Graduate degree. Students who have already applied are encouraged to make sure that their application is complete and accepted by the September 30th deadline.
