- Tribal Council Agenda: This morning – Water Board Budget; Health & Welfare Committee Budget; and Election/Counting Board Budget. This afternoon – TERO.
- The Warm Springs Community Health mobile medical clinic this morning will be at the Shelter Dining Hall from 9-11:30. Thursday (8/27) from 10-3 at the Simnasho Fire Station. At the mobile medical clinics, patients can be seen for medical problems, medications, STI tests, and – with an appointment – medical procedures. Walk-ins and scheduled appointments with RaNeva Dowty, Dr. Frey & Nurse Shirley are available. Call 541-553-2352 for more information.
- Medical Teams International in collaboration with Warm Springs Managed Care will have a free dental clinic today from 9-2 at the old school cafeteria. They can provide dental extractions and fillings. Services are free and on a walk-in basis.
- The Warm Springs Commodities Food Bank, located at 4217 Holliday Street in the Industrial Park, is open 10 until 1 today.
- The Madras Community Food Pantry at 370 SW Culver Highway is open 10-1 today.
- Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Springs Resort has a First Responder Appreciation Day every Tuesday through September. They are giving complementary resort admission for firefighters, first responders, law enforcement and their families. And EVERY Wednesday through September there will be free admission for Tribal members.
- Today is Senior Lunch from noon to 1 at the Warm Springs Senior Building. Salsbury Steak is on the menu.
- Warm Springs Community Health Program has a hand sewing circle that meets every Tuesday at noon in the I H S atrium. Lunch and supplies are provided for participants.
- Today in Madras High School sports – Volleyball has a Jamboree at Sweet Home High School.
- The Warm Springs STRONG Youth Wellness Program meets today at the old school gym. 3rd through 5th grade kids attend from 1-2:30 and 6th through 8th grade youth from 3-4:30. They’ve got free logo shirts for participants.
- The August Drummers Jammz Social Powwow scheduled for this evening is postponed.
- The SriPonya Collective invites individuals returning home from prison to Brothers & Sisters in Progress, a peer-led re-entry support group. Connect with a strong community network, access vital resources, learn goal-setting strategies, and gain eligibility for peer support specialist scholarships. A co-ed 3-on-3 basketball tournament for cancer prevention will be held on August 29th 10-3 at the Warm Springs Community Center. Registration will be open that morning from 8-10am or you can pre-register now by calling or texting Torrie at 971-509-4756. There will be youth age 9-17 and adult divisions plus health resources and food trucks Prizes will be given for 1st through 3rd places and $50 stipends for refs.
Shawnetta Yahtin holds a Talking Circle once a month in the Health & Wellness Center atrium from 9-10am. Light snacks are provided. The next Talking Circle is on Wednesday, September 2nd.
