Funeral Arrangements for Chief Joseph Moses – Breakfast will be served at 7 this morning at the Agency Longhouse. They will depart the Agency Longhouse at 9 for burial at the Simnasho Cemetery.
Shawnetta Yahtin will have her monthly Talking Circle this morning in the Health & Wellness Center atrium at 9. Light snacks are provided.
The Warm Springs Commodities Food Bank, located at 4217 Holliday Street in the Industrial Park, is open 10 until 1 today.
The Madras Community Food Pantry at 370 SW Culver Highway is open 10-1 today.
Today is First Responder Appreciation Day at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort. Every Tuesday through September they’ll give complementary resort admission for firefighters, first responders, law enforcement and their families. And EVERY Wednesday through September there is free admission for Tribal members.
Today is Senior Lunch from noon to 1 at the Warm Springs Senior Building. On the menu: meatloaf, mashed sweet potatoes, roots & veggies, dinner rolls & canned fruit.
Warm Springs Community Health Program has a hand sewing circle that meets every Tuesday at noon in the I H S atrium. Lunch and supplies are provided for participants.
Division of Child Support employees will be in Warm Springs from 1-3 this afternoon at the DHS office providing in-person assistance with completing forms and answering questions about child support. Forestry and the Timber Committee are holding a public meeting tonight from 6-8 at the old school cafeteria. They will discuss free-use, resale firewood, boughs, cones & Christmas trees. Folks are encouraged to show up with questions and concerns. A meal will be provided.
Papalaxsimisha’s final session of its pre-college summer series is this Wednesday (9/2) from noon to 1 at the Family Resource Center. It’s a chance to get a head start on your college journey – learn about financial aid, applying to college, scholarships and get support on your path to college.
Tomorrow is the last day of the summer program at the Boys & Girls Club. The club will be closed the rest of this week and next Monday & Tuesday. A volunteer-led search party meeting for missing teen Tyler Kalama will be held on Wednesday (9/2) from 5:30-8pm at the Agency Longhouse. All are welcome to attend, share information and volunteer in future search parties.
The Back to School BBQ & Family Resource Fair at the Warm Springs K-8 Academy is this Thursday (9/3) from 4-6pm. It’s a chance to connect with teachers and staff from the 509J school district. Everyone is welcome.
Warm Springs Nation Little League invites families to save your spot for the 2027 season by completing pre-registration paperwork during the Back-to-School Barbecue. People interested in coaching this coming season should contact Edmund Francis or Liz Hisatake.
The next legal clinic in Warm Springs is on Tuesday, September 8th from 9am to noon at the Community Action Team building. Free civil legal help is available for those who qualify, including wills, estate planning, expungement, tenant and employee rights, domestic violence protection, and public benefits. Metolius City Hall is inviting community members to its Dog Days of Summer fundraising event Saturday, September 19th at 6pm at the Rails & Tails Dog Park in Metolius. They are asking for donations to Rockn EZ Rescue Ranch – Pedigree dog food, collars, leashes, treats, and even cash. They will have free hot dogs for the humans and a splash pool the dogs!
