The Native American Program of Legal Aid Services of Oregon will have a legal clinic in Warm Springs this morning 9 to noon at the Community Action Team building. Free civil legal help is available for those who qualify, including wills, estate planning, expungement, tenant and employee rights, domestic violence protection, and public benefits. To schedule, call 541-668-8352. Walk‑ins are welcome.
The Oregon Employment Department’s mobile WorkSource Oregon center will be in Warm Springs today at the Community Center parking lot from 9:30-3:30. People can stop by to connect with career support, technology, and WorkSource staff who can help you take the next step in your job search. Services include free computer and internet access, personalized career support, help finding job and training opportunities, and referrals to benefits programs. If you are a Veteran, you’ll receive priority access to WorkSource Oregon services.
The Reservation Impact Food Bank at the Warm Springs Commodities Warehouse is open from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. At the same time, the Madras Community Food Pantry on Culver Highway is open from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Kah-Nee-Ta Resort has a First Responder Appreciation Day every Tuesday through September. They’ll give complementary resort admission for firefighters, first responders, law enforcement and their families. And EVERY Wednesday through September there will be free admission for Tribal members.
On the menu for Senior Lunch today: Mexican casserole, green salad, whole wheat bread & fruit salad.
Warm Springs Community Health Program has a hand sewing circle that meets every Tuesday at noon in the I H S atrium. Lunch and supplies are provided for participants.
On the Madras High School Sports Schedule today -Boys Soccer has a 4pm game at Mountain View.
Madras High School’s “Buffs Are Back” BBQ for all grades is today from 4:30-6:30. Students can learn about clubs & activities, plus get schedules, lockers, ASB cards, parking passes and order year books. Hot dogs, chips & water will be available for everyone.
The SriPonya Collective invites individuals returning home from prison to Brothers & Sisters in Progress, a peer-led re-entry support group. Connect with a strong community network, access vital resources, learn goal-setting strategies, and gain eligibility for peer support specialist scholarships. At Madras High School, freshmen start school on Wednesday (9/9) and all grade levels start on Thursday (9/10).
For Warm Springs K-8, grades 1 through 8 begin on Wednesday (9/9). Kindergarten families should have received a welcome letter detailing staggered orientation schedules, with individual family conferences on Wednesday, split student start days on Thursday & Friday, and all kindergarten classes starting on Monday, September 14.
Warm Springs Head Start’s first day of school will be Monday, September 14th. Head Start Open House is set for Wednesday, September 16th from 5 to 7:30pm.
The Warm Springs Boys & Girls Club will reopen Wednesday (9/9) for the afterschool program which runs 2:50-5:30. Registration is open now for the 2026-27 school year on the parent portal at www.bgcsc.org. Click on “register” and “create account.”
Warm Springs Suicide Prevention & Lines for Life are hosting a glow walk in recognition of World Suicide Prevention Awareness Day on Thursday, September 10th. Registration will begin at 7:15pm at the campus pavilion and the walk starts at 7:30. There will be pizza and a presentation after.
Joy Harjo, the 23rd US Poet Laureate, will present an evening of poetry and conversation at the Wyam Youth Center on Wednesday, September 16. She will give a reading and share stories about the struggles, challenges and joys of coming of age, followed by a Q&A session with the audience. The program will begin at 5pm.
