  • Today is Tribal Appreciation Day at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort with free admission for Tribal members.
  • Papalaxsimisha’s pre-college summer series continues today at the Family Resource Center from noon to 1. It’s a chance to get a head start on your college journey – learn about financial aid, applying to college, scholarships and get support on your path to college.
  • There is a senior lunch today at noon at the Warm Springs Senior Center dining area. They are serving Chicken & Dumplings.
  • The Water Control Board meets today from 1:30 until 4 in Conference Room #3 at the Tribal Administration Building. It meets monthly on the 4th
  • The Young Adults in Transitions Drop-In Center in Madras is open to people between 14 and 25 years old to hang out, build connections, and get help with next steps in life. It offers support for: mental health & well-being, education & career planning, employment readiness, housing resources, healthy relationships, budgeting & financial literacy, life skills—and so much more. It’s open Wednesdays & Saturdays, 3-7PM for youth ages 14–18 who are currently in school and Saturdays, 10AM–2PM for young adults ages 18–25 not in school. It’s located at: 241 SW 6th Street, Madras.
  • Today is the Free Food Market at the Madras Community Food Pantry, located at 370 SW Culver Highway. Signups will begin at 4 and doors open at 4:30
  • The Jefferson County Historical Society trivia fundraiser is this evening at 6 at New Basin Distillery.

Warm Springs Community Health’s next mobile medical clinic is on Thursday (8/27) at the Simnasho Fire Station. At the mobile medical clinics, patients can be seen for medical problems, medications, STI tests, and – with an appointment – medical procedures. Walk-ins and scheduled appointments with RaNeva Dowty, Dr. Frey & Nurse Shirley are available. Call 541-553-2352 for more information.

The Thursday Market is tomorrow from 10:30am – 2pm at the Campus Pavillion.  Vendors are welcome to come set up.  It’s first come, first serve for available tables and chairs.  Emergency Management will have their final free giveaway of clothing for men, women, children and babies, plus blankets and toys. And Mt. Hood Meadows & The Leo Company will have their Fall Clothing Give Away, too. Anyone may stop by to find wearable clothing looking for a new home. Items available include clothing, shoes and boots in a variety of sizes.

Forestry and the Timber Committee are holding a public meeting Tuesday, September 1st from 6-8pm at the old school cafeteria. They will discuss free-use, resale firewood, boughs, cones & Christmas trees. Folks are encouraged to show up with questions and concerns. A meal will be provided.

The next legal clinic in Warm Springs is on Tuesday, September 8th from 9am to noon at the Community Action Team building. Free civil legal help is available for those who qualify, including wills, estate planning, expungement, tenant and employee rights, domestic violence protection, and public benefits. To schedule, call 541-668-8352. Walk‑ins are welcome. The clinic is provided by the Native American Program of Legal Aid Services of Oregon.

The Oregon Employment Department’s mobile WorkSource Oregon center will be in Warm Springs at the Community Center parking lot from 9:30-3:30 on Tuesday, September 8th. People can stop by to connect with career support, technology, and WorkSource staff who can help you take the next step in your job search. Services include free computer and internet access, personalized career support, help finding job and training opportunities, and referrals to benefits programs. If you are a Veteran, you’ll receive priority access to WorkSource Oregon services.

ECE Daycare Admissions Packets for the 2026-27 School year are now available. Daycare admissions will be first come, first served. Currently, there is no school age program.
